The purpose of this site is to enable the Public Sector, Industry and other interested parties to work together to develop and agree policies and standards for the exchange of real-time public transport information.
Use of Schema
The Siri Schema is Copyright by the CEN and the members companies and organisations of the SIRI working group. It may reference other Schemas that are Crown Copyright, or that are owned by Associate Members of the UK Government GovTalk initiative, or that have other stated copyrights..
Anyone who wishes to reproduce the Schema in any format must acknowledge the source and state that the Schema are the copyright of CNE /SIRI, or the named Associate Member or Crown copyright, as appropriate. The permission to reproduce does not extend to any Schema or parts of Schema which are specifically identified as being the copyright of anyone who is not a Member or Associate Member. Permission to reproduce these Schema or parts of these Schema must be obtained from the identified copyright holders.
SIRI may reference the Trident Schema. Copyright in the Trident Schema resides with TRIDENT consortium.

An XML Schema consists of components such as type definitions and element declarations. These can be used to assess the validity of well-formed element information items (as defined in [XML-Infoset]), and furthermore may specify augmentations to those items and their descendants. This augmentation makes explicit information which may have been implicit in the original document, such as default values for attributes and elements and the types of element and attribute information items. The process of schema validation consists of determining whether an element information item satisfies the constraints embodied in the components of an XML Schema, and if so of adding any appropriate augmentations. Copyright in Schema created independently by a person by way of open submission to the website, whether in response to a Request for Proposals or as an unsolicited proposal, shall be retained by the person subject to a Perpetual Licence to each user of the web-site to use, copy, store, modify, distribute, transmit, display, reproduce and make derivative works from the Schema.
All contributions to the Schema shall be clearly documented and identified at the time of submission with the Associate Member's name as a copyright holder and with the year of submission as follows: ©..........(name)..........200* If the Associate Member includes material in his submission which is not his own copyright, permission must be obtained for the inclusion of this material and the name of the copyright owner stated.
Copyright in Schema specifically created through the efforts of Members in material contributed by Members to this website and to the UK Gov Talk initiative, whether by sending e-mail messages, uploading files, inputting data, or engaging in any other form of communication with the website, will be assigned to the Crown. These Schema may be reproduced free of charge in any format or medium without requiring specific permission, subject to the material being reproduced accurately and not being used in a derogatory manner or in a misleading context.
